Simulation Training
Firsthand experience goes a long way in developing solid crisis management skills. The closest thing to “being there” is LEC Management’s customized simulation training programs, each component uniquely customized to create a dramatic real world scenario. These dynamic, non-linear exercises provide results based on actions taken, with limited resources available, in the course of the simulated event. Participants in these thought-provoking “synthetic experience” exercises must apply situational cognition theory and critical thinking to accomplish goals and succeed in the game structure as a coordinated team.

Dr. Mason was a critical part of the design team that developed a board game as part of a training and education initiative for the Department of Agriculture’s avian influenza response program. He created the initial design for the game, and the basic framework he established has survived many modifications of detail to remain the foundation of the game that has been used successfully in dozens of states and other venues.
