Roger Mason is now Dr. Roger Mason. His doctoral dissertation was approved by a faculty committee of Walden University. Dr. Mason has just completed a six year program in the Walden University Acquired Management and Decision Sciences major. This program included six major research projects in systems theory, learning theory, leadership and management. Dr. Mason’s dissertation is titled Crisis management and Los Angeles County: Evaluating the preparations to deploy the incident command system. The dissertation was a program evaluation of 48 police departments in the Los Angeles County Mutual Aid Organization to determine the level of Incident Command Systems preparation by individual police departments. The dissertation is being published by the ProQuest Information and Learning Corporation and will be available on line by early summer 2006.
IAEM LECMgt is now a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). The IAEM is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. It is a professional association comprised of emergency management professionals around the world. The goal of the IAEM is to promote the profession of emergency management by training managers to save lives and protect property during disasters and emergencies. It is also a clearinghouse for new developments in the theory and practice of emergency management.
